I had lived 55 years letting Life "Happen" to me. I would take what I was given, rolled with the punches, bounced back and got what I deserved. Then one day my Son loaned me a CD to listen to on my long journey to work each day. The CD was about Leadership and since I made a practice of introducing leadership or what I then considered to be leadership to my staff, I listened to John C. Maxwell's "21 Laws of Leadership". Much to my surprise I experienced a new way to look at life. I made the choice to live a life of Learning, in order to continue to add Value to my life, with the purpose of adding value to the lives of others.
Life as I’ve learned to live in it
I believe that Living intentionally is developing self-discipline, getting rid of “Someday sickness”, living a lifetime of Personal Growth, Learning to lead ourselves, it’s learning to how accept failure as a growth tool, plainly said it’s taking “Action”! We will address this in its own section, should you decide to do so.
I believe that life is comprised of Choices. Even when we make the choice to not choose, we have made a choice! Why is it that some people can make a choice seemingly without thinking? Why is it that most people anguish over the requirement to make a choice? I believe the answer to that question is rooted in “Fear”. We will address this in its own section, should you decide to do so.
I believe that everyone is born for a reason and that everyone has a purpose or calling in Life. The problem is that Life does not come with an instruction manual, even if it did most of us would fail to read it. It takes hard work to find what our purpose/calling is. We need to learn WHO we are and how to become self-aware. Remember “You can’t change anything that you’re not aware of”. We will address this in its own section, should you decide to do so.
I believe that we need to make sure that all of our activities and actions are Adding Value to the lives of Others!
What I've Learned
Throughout this site I will be sharing stuff that I have learned from life so far. Please remember that what works for me may not work for you. Everyone has the responsibility to themselves to review and analyze content, taking from it what makes sense to them. When I provide you "What I've Learned" all I'm doing is sharing what I discovered. Maybe it will save you some time.
