Fighting Back

WEAPONS REQUIRED TO BATTLE THE DRAGON

Awareness

You can’t change anything you’re not aware of!

Self-awareness is a difficult skill to master. It first off means we need to admit to ourselves that we are not perfect, as you know “Perfect” is a great place to be able to hid from reality!

When your Dragon rears its ugly head and starts to breathe the fires of hate and destruction, your body undergoes a physical change of some sort. Your breathing changes, your stomach churns, your hands or feet get hot or cold, you feel dizzy, your head aches, to feel tension. Attempt to discover what those changes are in order to become aware of a trigger. Then tell yourself “STOP IT!!!”

Add value to others

It’s hard to feel bad about yourself when you’re doing something good for someone else

Courage

The courage to face the reality that you do; Feel Hurt, are Sad, Feel Alone, Feel Guilty (must be your fault – Right). The courage to acknowledge and feel the pain. The courage to want to; change, to heal, to Live, to Thrive. The courage to ask for wisdom, strength and help to change. The courage to start new today.

Personal Growth

Personal Growth is a process, a journey. Change does not happen overnight, it occurs day by day, and requires conscious effort in order to be real.

Garbage in – Garbage out

No Rap, Heavy Metal, Hate type music

Be wise about what you read, listen to and watch, as there is a direct correlation between what you put in your head and what comes out of your mouth. That correlation can determine your attitude, which has a powerful influence on your success.

Fire that “INNER CRITIC”

The inner voice that completely tears apart your self-esteem until you hate yourself too much to do anything except eat ice cream, watch daytime television, and sleep. Guard your self-talk. Every positive thing you can say to yourself will help. Stop comparing yourself to others. The only one you should compare yourself to is you. Move beyond your limiting beliefs. When a person puts a limit on what they can will do, they have put a limit on what they can do.

The Power of Positive Self-Esteem

Self-Esteem is the single most significant key to a Person’s behavior. If you feel that you are worthless you won’t add value to yourself. Low self-esteem puts a ceiling on your potential. As Nathanial Branden says, “If you feel inadequate to face challenges, unworthy of love or respect, unentitled to happiness, and fear assertive thoughts, wants, or needs – if you lack basic self-trust, self-respect, and self-confidence – your self-esteem deficiency will limit you, no matter what other assets you possess.” People are never able to outperform their self-image. The value we place on ourselves is usually the value other people place on us. If you want to become the person you have the potential to become, you must believe that you can!

Do the right thing, even if it’s the hard thing. One of the best ways of building self-esteem is to do what’s right. Being true to yourself and your values is a tremendous self-esteem builder, every time you take action it builds character, you become a stronger person.
